5 Secrets to Planning a Perfect Wedding

There are many ways to plan for a wedding but if you want a perfect one, let me share you the secrets:

1. Start with the wedding "theme" – Plan Early

Many wedding end in a disaster simply because the couple failed to make a good plan right at the very beginning. This is why it is so important to define first the overall theme of the wedding before doing any "wedding-related moves". The wedding theme will serve as the blueprint or the guide to everything you need to do and buy in the duration of your wedding planning. This is not, however, limited to those who want a fantasy wedding or off-the-book wedding ideas. This is applicable to the simplest civil wedding to the most extravagant wedding.

Defining a wedding theme will lead you to knowing the style of the dress, color motif, flowers, decorations, accessories, and budget.

2. Mark your calendar; book the venue early.

Since there are lots of things to do and lots of things to remember, you want to make planning smooth and on schedule. Give a good head start by reserving a venue 9-12 months in advance. It is so frustrating when you have planned everything and the date venue is unavailable to the date you desire. Also consider the venue of your wedding in relation to the season or weather. This is crucial since a short rain or a windy night can destroy everything your have prepared.

Make appointments: to your premarital counselor, pastor, dressmaker, hair stylist, flower arranger, decorators, caterer and moving company. Set objectives and deadlines.

3. Do the Legwork

If you have a wedding coordination, then your tasks is lessened, not eliminated. Do not rely everything to someone else. Oversee the whole wedding preparation to ensure that you get what you expect. Do the shopping and select what flowers you want, what dress to wear, and what food to serve. Update the wedding registry occasionally. The point is: this is your wedding and you have to make sure that everything is going according to your plan and not to somebody else's plan.

4. Remind your guests about the schedule rehearsals

A perfect wedding day does not limit to the couple but to everyone who will attend the ceremony. Make sure that you remind the participants about the rehearsal. Let them know about the seating appointments and what to expect during the wedding. This will reduce the risk of confusion at the actual wedding day.

Make sure that your target dates are met. Finalize decorations, programs, and thank you notes. Pick up your wedding dress for final fitting. Check the venue and weather forecast. Make some small adjustments if necessary. Pick up the ring and the wedding favors. Plan the pre-wedding parties.

5. Last minute check

One weed before the wedding, make sure the following have been prepared: aisle runner, alter arrangements, arch backdrop, bouquets, boutonnieres, candles, chairs, corsages, decorations, flower girl basket, gratuities, guest book table, kneeling bench, limousine, marriage certificate, marriage license, music, officiant fee, outdoor sign, parking, pen & guest book, pew bows/décor, photo permit, photographer, picture & stand, pillars/pedastal, programs, ring pillow, sound system, special occasions permit, unity candle/holder, videographer, and wedding rings.

It doesn’t mean that you single-handedly take care of all of these. Make sure that there are people who will the care of these details.
