1-Year Calendar Plan for a Perfect Wedding

12-11 Months Before the Wedding

• Start thinking about the wedding theme for your wedding ceremony and reception.

• Talk to your family members, all the parents and your fiancé about the time, location, style, size of the event, people invited and budget of your wedding.

• Decide whether you want to hire a professional wedding planner or ask someone in the family to assist you in preparing everything that needs to be done.

• Research on the internet to get ideas on what you should do and what you need to prepare.

• Find and book the location for your wedding reception.

• Book your hotel room for your pre-wedding night and your wedding night.

• Make a checklist of everything you need for the next planning months.


11-10 Months Before the Wedding

Call the following wedding vendors:

• Cakes (some caterers or venues often include this on their wedding package)
• Catering (some venues offer catering services)
• Ceremony
• Dresses
• Favors & Gifts
• Flowers
• Music
• Photography
• Stationery & Invitations
• Transportation


Prioritize on the major details such as musicians, photographers, caterer, officiant, and baker. Shop around or find a one-stop wedding store where you can book everything from it.


9-8 Months Before the Wedding

• Make a wedding registry. Decide whether you post it at a local department store or at an online registry site.

• Start researching for the honeymoon.

• Begin shopping for accessories, bridesmaids' dresses, and wedding gown.

• Gather the names and addresses of people you want to be included on your guest list.

• Shop for stationeries and wedding invitations.

• Decide whether you include wedding favors.

• Schedule a departure brunch, rehearsal dinner, and ceremony rehearsal.


7-6 Month Before the Wedding

• Schedule the menu tasting.

• Finalize your guest list. You can send them the wedding invitation immediately or just save-the-date cards.

• Have your wedding gown made. The bridesmaid's dresses should also be ordered.

• Follow up on your schedules and deadlines.


5-4 Month Before the Wedding

• Minor wedding details such as transportation and flowers should be finalized.

• Choose your make-up and hairstylist. 

• Shop for the groom's and groomsmen attire.

• Make appointments for first dress fitting.

• Make honeymoon reservation. Book plane tickets.

• Shop for "thank you" gift or attendant gifts.

• Shop for wedding favors if you want to include them to your wedding.

• Order wedding rings.

• Order invitations.

 

3-2 Month Before the Wedding

• Finalize and confirm ceremony and reception play list (song selections) from your musician, boutonnieres, bouquets, and flower arrangements from your florist, and request shots from your photographer.

• Mail wedding invitations.

• Prepare your wedding speeches or special wedding vows.

• Finalize the details of the ceremony including vows, readings and music with the clergy member.

• Schedule a final dress fitting.

• Pick up the wedding rings. Make sure that they fit.

• Mail rehearsal dinner invitations.

• Confirm hotel reservations for guests.

• Try out make-up and hairstyle. 

• Finalize the guest count.

• Make directions to the ceremony and reception site. Create a visitor gift basket.


1 Month Before the Wedding

• Confirm honeymoon reservations including car rentals, hotel accommodation, and flights.

• Contact facility manager, catering manager, and wedding coordinator about the final meal choices.

• Inform your wedding vendors about their arrival time. It would be much better if you each wedding vendor the specific details and their itineraries.

• Prepare the table cards and place cards.

• Make sure that the visitors have confirmed their attendance since most room block will not be accepted after this date.

15-10 Days Before the Wedding

• Pick up the wedding dresses, confirm tuxedo arrangements, confirm the final guest count, and confirm wedding rehearsals.


5-1 Day(s) Before the wedding

• Settle outstanding payments. Finalize everything in your checklist.
• Pack your things and prepare to check into your hotel.
• Relax.
• Get some rest.

Day of the Wedding

• Enjoy the day.
