How to Plan on a Limited Timeframe

If you are attempting to plan your wedding on a limited timeframe, do not worry; it has been done before. They key to planning an executing a successful wedding without much preparation time is organization and follow-up.

Begin the process by gathering together a group of friends and family members who can help you during the process. These are the people who's opinions and visions you trust. Because you have a very limited time to plan your wedding, you cannot afford to oscillate too much when making decisions. Your friends and family are there to help you make good decisions quickly.

They will accompany you and offer feedback as you search for your wedding gown, wedding ceremony location, wedding reception location, caterer, decorations and the like. Take photos of everything, if you cannot make a quick decision.

Once you have some free time, look over the photos and decide as a team which selection is best. On a limited timeframe, you will not be able to revisit locations or vendors as much as you would if you had plenty of time to prepare a wedding.

Because organization during your wedding planning will facilitate successful event, it is important that you make plenty of lists and work from them. These lists will include names and contact information for vendors, such as your florist, as well as to-do items, such as ordering invitations.

Make copies of the list and pass it around to those close friends and family members that are helping you. Chances are, you are not the only person in your group who can make orders. (It is also a good idea for someone to have a back-up list in case the original gets lost).

Keep in mind that when you are tasked with the challenge of pulling a wedding together quickly, it can be difficult to find time for yourself. You will be so busy finding music, food, location, decorations, invitations, transportation and the like that you may overlook the need for you to be relaxed. Your wedding day is a rare and special occasion for which you should be suitably rested.

Take some of your girlfriends and close family members out to a day at the spa, even if it seems like you may not have time. Spending a few hours relaxing with the people close to you will help to decompress your stress and leave you feeling energized to get back out there and continue to plan your wedding.
